La Casa Latina stands apart from other Spanish restaurants. We offer fine Latin cuisine. The menu has been carefully chosen to offer authentic cuisine from El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, Argentina and Peru. We have selected dishes with vegetables straight from Central America, chayote, flor de izote,loroco, palmettos and pacaya. The ambiance at La Casa Latina is warm and inviting. Our bilingual staff is hospitable, friendly and eager to give each guest a fine dining experience.
The Executive Chef Roberto Herrera and family have opened this fine restaurant in the heart of Westbury which is a neighborhood well known for it’s diversity.
Roberto brings with him over 20 years of culinary experience. He is currently the Executive Chef at the famous Bryant and Cooper Steak House for the past 18 years gaining knowledge and insight into the culinary world as well as all business aspects of exceptional dining experiences. While Roberto guides his family to establish La Casa Latina into the fine dining experience he has always dreamt of for his family and the community, he continues to satisfy the diners of Bryant and Cooper with his cooking prowess. Roberto has also worked for SNAP, a social service agency, since 1993, preparing over 500 diverse meals a day for senior citizens.
Roberto’s exemplary culinary skills have been recognized by many prestigious organizations. The New York Times recognized Roberto’s experience with Bryant and Cooper. He was named Chef of the Week in 5 Estrellas News Magazine, and was honored with the City meals Star award for his dedication to preparing meals for seniors. Roberto won the 2011 American Academy of Hospitality Sciences award as one of the finest chefs worldwide.
